If you're not rocking a SICK necklace stack…what are you waiting for?
At Ali Weiss Jewelry, we are committed to helping you construct and personalize the necklace stack of your dreams. Necklace stacking not only elevates any outfit, but allows individuals to express their unique style, and our goal is to make you feel your best! In this blog post, we will touch on every detail in creating the perfect necklace stack, offering inspiration and tips so you can create a look that reflects YOU!
Pick Where You Start Building From:
To achieve the perfect necklace stack, you can either start at the top most layer or the longest layer and work your way up or down. Starting on the top, a choker or tennis necklace is the perfect starting piece to build off of! If you want to work from the bottom, a 32’ inch chain will do the trick! A longer chain will let you have many different wrapping options and allow you to change up your look whenever you feel like it. A long chain also comes in handy when you want to add color or more unique pieces, making it easy to add and remove when you want options.
Mix and Match Thicknesses Of Chains & Necklaces
Don't you hate when all of your necklaces get all tangled so easily? Well, having a neck with multiple necklaces and chains of the same thickness makes you much more susceptible to tangles! If you mix thickness and chain links, it will be much easier to keep your necklaces on 24/7 without having to constantly be untangling.
Think About Building A Collection With Options
1. Length Options
- Longer chains can be doubled for an extra options on how to wear
- Most chains you can clip the clasp into to make it shorter than its total length
2. Seasonal Options
- Summer/Spring – typically lighter – maybe add some color
- Fall/Winter – typically heavier – maybe some black diamond
There Are No ‘Rules’ But…
1. Of course there is no right or wrong way BUT…typically thicknesses go thin to thick from top to bottom (shortest to longest) in both chains and necklaces.
2. When adding charms onto a chain, make sure you do multiple sizes and shapes to avoid blocking or taking away from each charm.
- Ie. Long tag, medium disk, small star
3. It's okay that they clump together-it's the look!
4. The order in which you string your charms onto the chain matters. Play with the order you string them on–usually the largest charm will go on first, then medium, then small (this helps the small ones not get buried behind the larger ones.)
Fun Fact: If you aren't sure which way is the ‘front’ of the necklace-most necklaces and chains are made for handed people so put it on yourself with the clasp in your right hand and it be facing ‘forward’ :)
Mastering a necklace stack showcases one’s personality and style, and our goal is to make everyone be the most confident versions of themselves!
